Am I prepared?

Sooooo, with my due date being two days ago and nothing even remotely looking like an end in sight it makes me wonder....Am I prolonging this myself? I don't think I'm really prepared for this journey of 2 babies. I'm actually terrified! Although I have found essentially all of the pieces to the pack n'play and bassinet attachment. I have clothes and diapers, I even have this very cute project created by my cousin for the baby, I don't have myself in order and prepared enough for me to have this baby just yet. I know that I have no real control over when the baby comes I think that God gives us things when we are ready. I must not be. I definitely have some cleaning to do in the room that the baby and I will share. I really need to get off the procrastination train and clean this crap up! I'll show you what I mean. This is the baby's sleeping area (better known as the PNP he will be in): 

Now it is clearly looking as if this a storage area and not a bed for a newborn. I really don't have any place to put the things that are in here. Which poses a problem: Where do I put these things when the baby does come home?

Answer: I have no idea. Well since I am up I have a few things I can do now so I guess I will get to them.

Easter Egg Hunt!

 So this was Brooklyn's first "real" Easter. Last year she was barely a month old. Well this year we had our family's annual Easter Egg Hunt since we finally have little kids again (granted there were only 2) but they had a blast! My uncles went out into my grandparent's back yard and hid the eggs, there wasn't a money egg this year, and we let them go at it. Not really though! Brook had no idea what she was doing but as I pointed out the eggs she figured out I wanted her to pick it up and put it in her tin basket. Once she figured that out it we were on a roll. She had a good time picking up those eggs.

She had never eaten a boiled egg before turns out she didn't really care for it or at least it seems from the look on her face.

Walking a mile in her shoes.....

Brooklyn is full on walking now. So much so that she doesn't want to crawl anywhere anymore. She has gotten the hang of catching herself and keeping her balance pretty well. Well today and yesterday we were outside of my Dad's house and she was walking back and forth pretty much having a blast! I on the other hand was sooo hot and pretty bored walking along the sidewalk. Since there are no grass patches anywhere I was scared she was going to fall on the rocks but she held her own. I was so proud of her. I'm sure like other babies her age she thinks she's a big kid and she wanted to go where the big kids were which yesterday was a group of boys playing/throwing sticks.She was sure upset when I turned her around and reminded her she's not as old as she thinks she is.

 

Today I got a little smarter and we walked on the other side of the parking lot in the shade but not after we were out in the hot sun. Needless to say she walked and walked and tired herself out good. She must have walked a mile between the two days. She is defininitely having a good time so I guess we will go about this everyday and hopefully when we return to California the weather will be nice enough to continue.



Brooklyn's 1st Birthday Party

So today marked a milestone for us. We celebrated Brooklyn's first birthday! Granted her birthday isn't until Tuesday but we still had a great time. Brooklyn was the most adorable thing in her "Minnie Mouse" getup. She had a blast!!! She was so excited, she was walking around and even playing with other kids. I wish I could put her in child care or some kind of playgroup so she can play with other kids. She enjoys it so much. I will put the pictures up soon, I just wanted to get this off my chest for today. I will say that I am happy the party is over and I know that when Tuesday gets here I will most likely bawl my eyes out. I can't believe the year has gone by so quickly. Now that the party is over it's time to get more serious about this next baby.

Mommy's Day Out!

Soooo yesterday my mom took Brooklyn to my grandparents house for the night. This is the first time she has ever spent the night away from me. With the time I had to myself I took naps, watched some movies, went out to eat and caught a late show at the theater. I have really enjoyed my time but I REALL MISS my baby. I will be so happy to see her when they get here. That is alll that I have to say but I do want to make note of this very special occassion that I'm sure will happen again someday, just not sure when.

STROLLERS!!!!!

So with another baby coming sooner than later I have been looking into double strollers which are pretty much a pain in my ass. I was out walking in the mall and I saw a couple with a newborn and a toddler. It was kinda cool. The newborn was in a seat (not a carrier) closer to the floor facing mom and the toddler was in a seat closer to mom facing the world. The only problem I have with this system is that Brooklyn's feet will be in baby's face. It looked lightweight- a plus but really long- minus. I have been searching and searching but I can't find that one dangged stroller and I didn't write the name of it down. Babies R Us has plenty of strollers and they have some range in price. These are my favorites so far regardless of price:

Happy Valentine's Day!

So today is Valentine's Day and I wanted to take some pictures so that I could send them out via email as a e-card. So with that I bought a nice pink shirt from Wally World (WalMart) and some tutu's from (Target) from the dollar spot. However, what I thought would look great together turned out that it didn't (which if you know me makes total sense). So she ended up in a regular ole' undershirt with her cute Valentine's bib! It took a few tries but we finally got the perfect picture.

I also got her the cutest gift - Elmo's Fuzzy Valentine! It was awesome and she loved it! All in all today turned out pretty great. We had a great dinner and she was sleep by 9. Perfect! Thank God for a great Valentine's Day for mommy.
