Where to begin...

So I thought I would be able to post a blog everyday but clearly I was waaay too ambitious. So anyway things have been crazy these past few days to say the least.  I have decided to try to start tutoring  on the side to make a little money on my own, so I have been tutoring my cousin's daughter 4 days a week which works out ok.  Well yesterday my car strarted smoking and leaking so I don't know how I'll be able to do my tutoring gig or get to my "interview" tomorrow afternoon. On to other news, I have made flight arrangements for my trip back to New Orleans and Brooklyn is going with me so we shall see how that will turn out. I have a whole apt to pack up with her with me. That's going to be an adventure! Well I guess now that I've gotten it all out there isn't too much going on.  Wish me luck on my adventure through the airport alone with a 6 month old baby!

My Big Girl

Today is the first time I felt a tooth! I can't believe it. It really seems like just yesterday she was born. I was supposed to have a babysitter for the day and it fell through because Brooklyn was having a rough time. Ever since moving here from New Orleans Brooklyn has not been the friendliest person to my family. She cries all the time but she never cries at home when it's just the two of us.  Lately she's been in the habit of crying whenever I leave the room but she cried for over an hour when I left her with my grandmother and great aunt. But it turns out that she was cutting a tooth and was in horrible pain. I feel bad that she was going through that.

On another note: I have come to the conclusion that my days of being a sahm are winding down as much as I hate it. I must get a job asap. I guess that's all for now. See you soon

What a Day!

Sooo there is this outbreak of the Whooping Cough here in California and I get a home visit from a nurse of the office of communicable diseases saying me and Brook have been exposed. I go to the pharmacy in the same place we were exposed (I know dumb on my part) and I have to wait forever when the prescription, for the antibiotics we were prescribed. I walked with Brooklyn who was up for the trip at the beginning but as we got there while the pharmacy staff was at lunch and we had to wait for the prescription, a nice trip turned into something not so nice. I ended up stopping on the way home,because she was screaming bloody murder, to feed her. People were looking at me all kinds of crazy while I was walking and she was screaming. I have learned my lesson destination walks may not be the best thing right now. I will stick to leisurely walks. Or maybe I should just pay more attention to the clock. What do you think?

My First Post

Sooo this is my first attempt at blogging. I guess I just want to talk about my experiences as a new mother to anyone who is interested.  So I'm 30 and just had my first child 5 months ago. That time though has gone by so fast I really can't believe it's been that long. This is my attempt to have contact with adults during the day when it's just me and her all morning and afternoon.  I hope I don't bore you to pieces and I don't whine too much that I push you away. Well here goes nothing!
